Sammlung Schack

The Schack Collection is a small gem among Munich's museums. Images from legends and fairy tales tell stories of distant lands and times past. The painting collection of the poet and cultural historian Adolf Friedrich von Schack is one of the most important collections of 19th-century German painting and invites you to explore the world of Romantic thought and imagery. Masterpieces from the Neue Pinakothek, which is currently closed for renovation, are also currently on display.

8 – 11 pm: Night in the Museum: The Paintings Whisper Back – Literature Meets Painting. Speakers from the Bavarian Audiobook Library (Bayerische Hörbücherei) narrate, sense, and feel and discover their way through the literary elements behind the shadows and lights of screens and images. A fine audio experience for those strolling around the museum.
