FOREWORD
Welcome to the Long Night of Museums Regensburg!
What does it take to bring culture to life? Certainly: open doors. And open eyes. But above all, it requires curiosity – about stories, about spaces, about people. That's the idea behind the Long Night of Museums. What seems familiar during the day becomes something new at nightfall: spaces gain depth, objects appear different, and visitors encounter not only art and history, but also each other.
This year, we're celebrating a special premiere with the Long Night of Museums Regensburg. Under the motto "Enough pixels? Time for something real," we invite you to lift your eyes from the screen and immerse yourself in an unfiltered cultural experience. It's not just about discovering exciting content, it’s about experiencing it together. Culture isn't simply presented here; it's shared.
The Cathedral City is the ideal location for this format, as demonstrated by the numerous institutions that are enthusiastically participating. Our thanks go to all partners who are contributing to its success through their commitment and openness, and to the Cultural Department of the City of Regensburg, which is backing this project with great foresight.
We wish you a night full of new perspectives, inspiring encounters, and very personal cultural moments!

GREETINGS
Regensburg is no ordinary city—it is a living history book, with new chapters opening on every street corner. Our city is a mosaic of historical sites and cultural experiences that continually surprise and inspire us. I am therefore even more delighted that we are welcoming the Long Night of Museums, a format that makes all this visible in a single night. I am particularly proud that so many institutions from a wide variety of organizations are involved throughout the city. Our municipal institutions are also involved: Regensburg Tourism's city tours will bring the history of the Old Town to life, while the Historical Museum will let you experience ancient Rome again. The document Neupfarrplatz will reveal archaeological treasures, and the document Kepler will tell the story of the famous astronomer. Local traditions and global culture will meet at the World Heritage Visitor Center, while contemporary art and historic walls converge at the Municipal Gallery in the Leerer Beutel.
All this and more characterizes this important event, carried out by the work and enthusiasm of all those whom I sincerely thank. I invite all visitors to experience Regensburg's stories and look to the future with curiosity.

Mayor of the City of Regensburg

GREETINGS
Sometimes all it takes is an invitation, an event, a single night to experience a city in a whole new way. The Long Night of Museums Regensburg aims to do just that: to illuminate the diversity of our cultural life in the light of a unifying event. Regensburg is rich in places that rise from the cityscape like cultural pillars: the Brückturm Museum, the Neupfarrkirche (New Parish Church), and the Naturkundemuseum Ostbayern (Natural History Museum of Eastern Bavaria) exemplify the unique connection between history, science, and civic identity.
Right next door are extraordinary places that demonstrate the depth of our culture today: from the Dachshund Museum to the Hannah Rembeck Jewelry Gallery, from the LIMA tattoo studio to the Walhalla of Whisky. All these facets make the Long Night an open and vibrant experience that will bring together the diverse voices of our city.
My hope is that this premiere will have a lasting impact and whet your appetite for more – for the diversity, creativity, and solidarity that characterize Regensburg's culture. Be curious and treat yourself to a Long Night!
Yours,
Wolfgang Dersch
Cultural Officer of the City of Regensburg
