How does it work?
It’s simple: With the Long Night ticket, you gain entry to the 'Long Night of Museums Regensburg,' meaning access to all participating exhibition venues for one adult and up to four children (ages 4–14) for the evening program. The ticket also serves as a ride pass for the RVV shuttle buses, which operate on two routes, stopping at the 'Shuttle' locations with start and end points at Bismarckplatz
Where do I get tickets?
In advance sale, tickets cost €20 plus presale and system fees and can be purchased here on our website as well as in the München Ticket webshop.
In most venues, tickets are also available in advance. On the day of the event, tickets will go on sale at the ticket booth at Haidplatz at 1:00 p.m. , and in the participating venues at 6:00 p.m. Tickets purchased at the box office on the day of the event cost €20.
Are there any discounts?
There are no discounts for senior citizens, students, or holders of the Regensburg City Pass.
The accompanying person of an individual with a severe disability receives free admission if the official disability ID card includes the letter “B” and the note “The entitlement to be accompanied by an attendant has been verified.” The attendant is admitted free of charge but does not receive their own ticket.
Are the annual tickets of the individual museums also valid during the Long Night?
No, the Long Night is an exclusive event, therefore the various museums’ annual tickets are not valid for admission on this evening.
Where can I get the printed program?
Program booklets are available at the participating exhibition venues, including on the evening of the Long Night itself. Program booklets will also be available on the day of the event from 1 p.m. at the information and ticket booth on Haidplatz.
Please note, however, that due to the uncertain planning situation at the editorial deadline, many contributions are only mentioned in general terms or not yet included in the booklet. We therefore strongly recommend also checking the current pages of the website.
Where does the Long Night take place?
Numerous museums, galleries, and historical sites are participating in this year's premiere of the Long Night of Museums in Regensburg. They are the venues where everything takes place. The city maps show the locations of the individual venues.
Is the event accessible?
Accessibility information is available on the program pages of each museum and exhibition venue. Under 'Venue,' you can see whether the building is accessible. Further details—such as accessible restrooms, audio guides, or other services—are also provided on the respective program page, if available at the venue. If you require additional information on accessibility, please contact the respective museum or exhibition venue directly.
How long does the Long Night of Museums Regensburg last?
The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 1:00 a.m. Program items such as city tours, presentations, or music will only take place at the specified times. For certain guided tours, advance registration is required. You can find this information on the program pages of the respective venues here on our website.
How do I get from venue to venue?
Most venues and art locations are within walking distance from Haidplatz, making it easy to move from one place to another. For venues farther away, RVV shuttle buses run every 20 minutes. The first buses leave between 5:45 and 6:00 PM from Bismarckplatz, and the last buses run around 1:00 AM. Shuttle-connected venues are highlighted on our website and in the program booklet. You can find the stops on each venue’s program page. Timetables and further information are available here.
How many exhibition venues should I aim to visit?
We suggest starting with 4–5 exhibition venues. Since the venues differ in size, some can be explored more quickly than others. This allows you to enjoy the program at a relaxed pace and even drop by other venues spontaneously.
Where should I start?
There is no fixed starting point. You can begin at any participating venue. On our website, you can find information about the program of each venue in advance and create your own individual route using the ,,Meine Nacht“ (,,My Night”) function.. Alternatively, we are happy to provide program recommendations at the information stand at Haidplatz.
How do I plan ,,Meine Nacht'' (,,My Night'')?
In the 'My Night' section, you can plan your individual Long Night by arranging the order of the venues you want to visit. An event can be easily added to 'My Night' using the heart symbol.
Will there be waiting time at the entrance?
Yes, occasional waiting times may occur when venues reach full capacity. In this case, it can be worthwhile to visit another venue nearby and return later if you wish.
Do I need to check my bag?
Please check directly with the respective venue whether bags or backpacks need to be deposited or stored in lockers for security reasons. Please also pay attention to the notices and instructions on site.
Where does the Children’s Program take place?
Some venues offer a children’s program in the afternoon. The addresses and program details of the respective venues can be found on the children’s program page.
How and how long are young people allowed to visit the Long Night?
The Youth Protection Act applies. This means that teenagers aged 16 and over may attend the event unaccompanied until midnight. For teenagers under the age of 16 in general, or for 16- and 17-year-olds who wish to stay longer than midnight, a parent or legal guardian must assume supervisory responsibility. The supervisory responsibility should be explicitly delegated by the parents for the event, ideally confirmed in writing and including a phone number where the parents can be reached. Further information on youth protection in Regensburg can be found on the website of the city or the district of Regensburg: Jugendschutz Regensburg (Protection of Minors Regensburg).
How can I get information during the event?
The center of the Long Night is Haidplatz.
From 1:00 p.m. onwards, there is an information booth where we are happy to answer your questions about the Long Night. Our info scouts are on the tours and available to answer any questions.
What do I see on the poster motif?
Kepler Bust (document Kepler)
This year’s event motif features the bust of Johannes Kepler, which is located in document Kepler. It highlights his significance as a pioneer of modern astronomy and optics. The motif deliberately shows the bust in a pixelated form and, under the title “Genug Pixel? Zeit für was Echtes“ (“Enough Pixels? Time for Something Real”) encourages people to escape the constant digital noise and to experience real art, places, and events in an intentionally analog way.
