The Alte Pinakothek is one of Europe's most important art galleries and houses one of the world's largest collections of European paintings from the 14th to the 18th century, including major works by Dürer, Rubens, Raphael, Titian, Altdorfer, Cranach, Rembrandt, and Murillo. The current presentation from the collection “Wie Bilder erzählen” (How Pictures Tell Stories) promises a reunion with old acquaintances. It highlights different facets of a theme that is one of the core tasks of painting par excellence: storytelling.
8 – 10 pm: With all Senses – How do the paintings in the Alte Pinakothek smell and sound? What happens when you change your perspective and look at a painting from below or from a horizontal position? How can you explore colors and shapes by expressing your own feelings with a drawing pencil?
8 pm - midnight: Kunstauskunft (Art Info) – Art guides and docents will be available to assist guests and welcome questions, ideas, and suggestions!
